Born into a Christian family of musicians, artists and educators, this bay area native found her love for different genres of music early on. Violet Marie spent her early years listening to the melodic crooning of Anita Baker, the hypnotic rhythms of Miles Davis, and the harmonic worship of the Clark Sister. Because of her strong foundation based in gospel music, this musician discovered her love for singing and performing. The impact her music had on her community influenced her decision to turn her passion into her career resulting in acquiring a degree in music education.
It was during her time as Sonoma State, she discovered the guitar and a love story began. Feeling the guitar had become an extension of her, she found the enchanting strings could communicate feelings that were beyond words.
Violet Marie’s debut project combines her love of the guitar and singing, while seamlessly expressing a myriad of genres to bring life to an expression of love. Storytelling dripped with tones of R&B, rock, jazz and classical influences, the album takes you through the personal experience that is her heartbeat of life. She believes everything has a rhythm, especially life. Violet Marie hopes her music speaks to the rhythm of your life.
